Steve Ellis – Managing Director
Steve has over 25 years' experience in the construction industry. He has a BTEC National Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical engineering, a BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering Commercial Management and is a Chartered Builder.
Steve started his career in Civil Engineering, building bridges, sheet piling, marine revetment works and network rail contracts before moving into construction with a locally based company for 17 years, as Commercial Director. He has a very good technical knowledge along with excellent commercial skills which makes a big difference when value engineering a project.
Steve has strong experience of working in all sectors of the construction industry including commercial, residential, health, education, food, retail and transport. He also has a strong focus on customer relationships, satisfaction and believes supply chain partnering is the route to a quality end product.
His main focus and vision is to continue to build Probus Construction into a forward thinking Construction business where the team can have fun, be listened to and put the customer first.
Jed Giles - Quantity Surveyor
Jed is a Quantity Surveyor with a Bachelor of Science with Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying. Jed went straight into work from University working for a Carpentry, Joinery & Internal fit out company in London working on various multi-million pound projects throughout the capital, which included projects such as the Olympic Stadium Transformation and various other high profile projects.
Jed has good experience in working with high pressure projects in sectors which range from Commercial, Residential, Mixed-Use, Health and Education. Jed’s work ethos is very much aligned with the Probus mentality of prioritising customer satisfaction and high quality workmanship.
Colette Hodkinson - Office Administrator
Colette has been working as an administrator in the construction industry for nearly 10 years. She has a wealth of experience working in fast paced, high pressured environments and enjoys being involved in all aspects of the company.
Colette understands that being the face of the company and first point of contact is a very important role, so if you call/email/drop in to Probus Construction, you will always be greeted in a very polite and friendly manner. She is always willing to go that one step further for any of our clients, so if you require anything, please don't hesitate to ask as Colette will be more than willing to help in any way she can.
Geoff Sear ACIOB - Business Development
Geoff works for Probus on a formal part-time basis generating new work opportunities and expanding on our existing relationships. Geoff has spent more than 30 years in the industry, firstly as a time-served Estimator Surveyor with a large main contractor in London and the last 20 years working in Business Development / Bid Writing capacities for two national builders.
Geoff firmly believes his commercial understanding of the construction industry has been a tremendous help when talking with clients and consultants about the individual challenges of their projects. Equally, they appreciate that Geoff will always ensure their requirements are understood, relayed and acted upon.
